Cracker, Mo.? How rude!
As a little boy I loved to read "The Little White Indian Boy," a book written by a white man who, as a young boy, ran away to live with a tribe of Shoshone Indians. Guess what? This man who lived as an Indian used the term "squaw." But that book title is now politically incorrect, so I guess we will forget that.
However, I did take a challenge presented in the Deseret News article (May 12). I found some places I find offensive and want the names changed. The biggest and most disgusting one would have to be Cracker, Mo., area code 63304. Cracker is a derogatory comment toward white people. I am highly offended at its use in Missouri.
